After a flurry of early-week rumors about the Honor Magic 8 RSR, a more detailed leak has clarified what to expect from the brand’s next flagship, shared by noted tipster Digital Chat Station.
According to the information, the Honor Magic 8 RSR will run on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It will pair with up to 24 GB of RAM, while the top configuration—mirroring the Magic 7 RSR—may offer 1 TB of storage. The smartphone is set to feature a 6.71-inch LTPO display with a 2808 × 1256 resolution. The display will support face scanning and include an ultrasonic fingerprint reader embedded in the screen. On paper, the mix looks tuned for power users who want speed without sacrificing stamina.
One of the headline features is a 7200 mAh battery. Both wired and wireless charging up to 120 W are supported, placing the Magic 8 RSR among the most enduring flagships in its class. The leak also points to expanded body protection: the phone is said to meet IP68, IP69, and IP69K standards. At least two colorways are mentioned—Slate Gray and Moonstone.
By the look of its specifications, the Magic 8 RSR echoes much of the Magic 8 Pro, with the main differences likely centered on design and positioning. Honor is also preparing other models in the series—the Magic 8S and Magic 8 Air. Preliminary indications suggest the Magic 8 RSR could arrive in mid to late January.
