The public beta of One UI 8.5 kicked off earlier this month and is currently limited to the Galaxy S25 series. Behind the scenes, though, Samsung is running a much broader effort: the new skin is already in internal trials across a wide range of Galaxy phones. Judging by the test build data, One UI 8.5 is being checked not only on flagships but also on more affordable models. That reads less like a narrow pilot and more like groundwork for a rollout aimed at a wide audience rather than just top-tier devices.
The full list of devices currently testing One UI 8.5 is as follows: Galaxy S25 Edge, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A17, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A16 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5.
While the roster may expand as testing continues, the public One UI 8.5 beta is, according to preliminary information, set to remain exclusive to the Galaxy S25 line. The other models participating in internal trials will most likely jump straight to the stable release.
The stable build of One UI 8.5 is slated to debut on the Galaxy S26 series early next year. From there, the update should roll out gradually to earlier Galaxy S flagships and foldables in the Galaxy Z family, followed by mid-range devices.
With testing already in full swing, Samsung looks positioned to push out One UI 8.5 without major delays once the software is finalized.
