With the One UI 8.5 update, Samsung is preparing an intelligent feature called Now Nudges that helps users surface the right information faster, with fewer taps. It builds on a new Android system capability called Contextual Suggestions, which Google recently introduced.
The idea is straightforward: the phone analyzes everyday usage patterns and delivers timely prompts at the moment they’re useful. During a workout, it might suggest a fitting playlist; before heading out, it could bring up your route or trip details. The aim is to cut down on digging through apps—relevant hints appear automatically.
Crucially, processing takes place on the device. Data isn’t sent to Google or third parties and stays within an encrypted environment. Users can delete it at any time, and it also expires automatically after 60 days. That makes the tool not just practical but also reassuring from a privacy perspective.
According to sources, Now Nudges in One UI 8.5 could grow into richer scenarios: autofilling information when ordering food, surfacing boarding passes, addresses, and other helpful details already stored on the phone. Deeper integration with Samsung services and Google apps is also expected.
Early users have already started spotting the option under Settings → Google → All services → Other. The full set of Now Nudges capabilities is expected to arrive alongside the Galaxy S26 lineup, signaling a clear push toward context-aware AI and personalization without sacrificing privacy.
