iQOO Z11 Turbo and Realme Neo 8: budget flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

As the OnePlus 15R with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 creeps up in price, more wallet‑friendly flagships are coming into view. Two heavy hitters—the iQOO Z11 Turbo and the Realme Neo 8—are expected to debut as early as January 2026. Both aim to deliver flagship‑grade performance without the premium sticker shock.

iQOO is preparing a phone that could become one of the strongest value plays of early 2026. Leaks suggest it will feature a flat 6.59‑inch LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a metal frame with a glass back, a battery of around 7600 mAh, a 200 MP main camera, and a 32 MP front camera. The device is said to be positioned as powerful yet relatively affordable—the estimated price in China is about $360, which would put real pressure on pricier rivals. On paper, the proposition looks hard to ignore.

The other contender is the Realme Neo 8, also slated for January 2026. It is expected to use the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 but court users who prize battery life and durability.

Expected specifications:

A Samsung LTPS AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution; an ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint reader; a battery of roughly 8000 mAh; a metal frame with a glass back; and water‑ and dust‑resistance rated at IP68 and IP69. The lineup is also reported to include Neo 8 Turbo, Neo 8 SE (with the Dimensity 8500), and Neo 8x variants, all rumored for the first half of 2026.

The OnePlus 15R is set to start at around $699, and against that backdrop, the upcoming models from iQOO and Realme look especially tempting. They promise the same flagship chip, larger batteries, and modern design at a far more approachable price. If the leaks hold, early 2026 could bring several aggressively priced flagships—and the real choice may shift from “power or price” to picking a flavor of the same performance tier.
