Google has rolled out the Android Auto 15.2 beta, and it’s already available to download. True to form, there’s no official changelog, but observers note that this build prepares the platform for bigger shifts ahead—most notably, integrating the Gemini AI.
The headline change points to a replacement for Google Assistant, which drew frequent complaints for shaky reliability and limited features. A switch feels overdue. Gemini is expected to sharpen searches in Google Maps, pulling in details like restaurant reviews and menus and offering more relevant suggestions, all while keeping hands-free control intact.
The update also matters for Pixel 10 owners, many of whom reported overheating, battery drain, and unstable connections when using Android Auto. Google is already working on fixes, and some of them may make it into 15.2. Any relief here would be welcome.
For now, Android Auto 15.2 is available to beta program participants, though you can install it manually via an APK file. Keep in mind the risks: beta builds aren’t recommended for everyday use because bugs are still possible. If testing goes smoothly, a stable release could arrive as early as next week, rolling out gradually.
