Insiders have revealed the key specs of the upcoming POCO M8 lineup, with the launch penciled in for January 2026. According to sources, the phones will be rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 15 series, though with tweaks in positioning and configurations that should give the POCO models their own flavor.
The standard POCO M8 5G is set to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2392×1080 resolution. The camera setup pairs a 50 MP main sensor with optical stabilization and a 2 MP depth module, while the front camera comes in at 20 MP. For an entry device, the stabilized main camera stands out; the depth sensor looks more utilitarian.
Power comes from a 5520 mAh battery with 45 W fast charging. The body is finished in a two-tone faux-leather look and carries IP68 protection, alongside an optical fingerprint scanner, an IR port, and a hybrid slot for microSD. At 162.2 × 74.2 × 8.4 mm and 190 g, the phone aims for a balance of presence and practicality.
The POCO M8 Pro 5G steps up to a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen at 2772×1280 with 120 Hz, shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It’s a package that signals a more robust tier, with the tougher glass being a welcome addition for everyday use.
The main 50 MP camera with optical stabilization is joined by an 8 MP ultra-wide, and the selfie camera moves to 32 MP. The battery grows to 6500 mAh with 100 W fast charging. Despite the larger cell, the body is just 7.9 mm thick and weighs 207 g—an assertive combination that suggests efficiency without going bulky.
Both models run Android 15 with HyperOS 2 and offer Wi‑Fi 5, Bluetooth (5.1 on the M8 and 5.4 on the M8 Pro), plus IP68 protection against water and dust. The shared durability story is cohesive, even if the Wi‑Fi spec feels conservative by current standards.
