Samsung looks set to side with shoppers. According to leaker Ice Universe, citing South Korean media, the company does not plan to raise prices for the flagship Galaxy S26 lineup or the foldable Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. Despite higher component costs and a general uptick in smartphone prices, the tags are expected to stay at last generation’s levels — a rare show of restraint in today’s market.
It’s especially telling that this stance extends to foldables, which traditionally inch up in price year after year. That could make the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8 more appealing against rivals and subtly strengthen Samsung’s hand in the premium tier, where every edge counts.
Timing is also coming into focus. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S26 on February 25 in San Francisco, with official sales slated for early March. In other words, the company is reverting to its familiar release cadence, aiming to get devices into buyers’ hands quickly — a rhythm the audience rarely complains about.
If the information holds, the Galaxy S26 would be one of the few 2026 flagships to keep its price steady, a factor that could prove decisive as phones across the board continue to get more expensive.
