Withings Body Scan 2 unveiled at CES 2026: AI smart scale screens hypertension and diabetes risks

At CES 2026, Withings unveiled its Body Scan 2 smart scale, which the company says can identify risks of serious heart conditions at home, including hypertension. The device pairs a floor scale with a retractable handle and runs a comprehensive body scan in roughly 90 seconds.

Body Scan 2 analyzes more than 60 biomarkers, some of which haven’t been available in consumer devices before. A headline addition is cuffless hypertension risk assessment: the scale uses a dedicated AI model to gauge vascular health and the likelihood of elevated blood pressure — a major risk factor for stroke.

Another first for home scales is the ability to flag glycemic imbalance, potentially signaling early diabetes. Also new is impedance cardiography, which estimates how efficiently the heart pumps blood and what factors might influence that process.

Withings notes that many of its algorithms and measurements are clinically validated and aimed at catching the quieter consequences of modern living — stress, sedentary routines, and disrupted sleep and diet — before they escalate. The device also generates a Health Trajectory indicator to reflect overall trends and the potential impact of lifestyle changes.

The scale syncs over Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth and supports integrations with services like Fitbit via Android Health Connect. Battery life is rated at up to 15 months, and Body Scan 2 goes on sale in the second quarter of 2026 for $599, which is $100 more than the previous model.
