Realme has unveiled the Realme 16 Pro+, the brand’s first major release of 2026. The phone leans hard into mobile photography and stamina, pairing a 200-megapixel main camera with a 7,000 mAh battery. The look has been refreshed with a camera-forward design and a new LumaColor image engine aimed at more natural skin tones, accurate color, and lifelike lighting. It’s a clear signal of what the company wants you to notice first.
The main camera uses Samsung’s 200MP HP5 sensor (1/1.56-inch, f/1.8) and supports lossless automatic 1x and 2x zoom. LumaColor is joined by 21 adjustable color tones and five proprietary portrait styles: Lively, Vintage, Fresh, Neon, and Vivid. The company also points to HyperRAW, InstantSnap, and Anti-Distortion algorithms to boost detail, steady fast-moving scenes, and reduce edge distortion.
For distance shots, the phone adds a 50MP periscope Samsung JN5 with 3.5x optical zoom and digital zoom up to 120x, plus an 8MP ultrawide. Video recording includes 4K HDR at 1x, 2x, 3.5x, and 7x, as well as dual-focus 4K at 60 fps with switching between 1x and 3.5x. On paper, that range should cover most everyday scenarios without juggling modes.
Under the hood, the Realme 16 Pro+ runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Up front is a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, joined by a 50MP selfie camera and an optical under-display fingerprint reader. The 7,000 mAh battery supports 80W wired charging, and the body carries IP69 water and dust protection. It ships with realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, with the company promising three major Android updates and four years of security patches. The longevity pledge and the battery alone make it feel built for the long haul.
The Realme 16 Pro+ is available for pre-order in India. The 8/128GB version is priced at 39,999 rupees (about $443), the 8/256GB model at 41,999 rupees (around $465), and the 12/256GB option at 44,999 rupees (about $498). Shipments are scheduled to begin on January 8. The package reads as a deliberate pitch to users who value camera flexibility and endurance at this price.
