Motorola Moto Watch unveiled: Polar-powered fitness, 13-day battery

At CES 2026, Motorola introduced the new Moto Watch, making another bid to strengthen its position in wearables. Unlike last year’s Moto Watch Fit, the new model adopts a classic round look and puts a clear emphasis on health and fitness, shaped by a partnership with Polar. The shift reads as a move from simple tracking toward more purposeful training tools.

The Moto Watch features a 1.43-inch OLED display set in a 47 mm aluminum case, with a stainless-steel crown on the side. Straps are interchangeable, with silicone, leather, or stainless steel options. The watch is rated IP68 for dust and water protection and is additionally listed at 1 ATM for use in shallow water. The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass 3, a practical if restrained choice that favors reliability.

Polar’s fitness technology is the headline feature. The watch tracks steps, real-time heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and sleep. It also brings Polar’s Smart Calories, Nightly Recharge, and Activity Score to help interpret recovery and overall load rather than just surface-level stats. Extras include reminders to stay hydrated, take medications, and set customizable activity goals—small nudges that tend to make daily routines more consistent.

On the smart side, there’s dual-frequency GPS, phone calls via the built-in speaker and microphone, and notification support. Motorola’s moto ai powers information handling, including the Catch me up feature on compatible smartphones. The Moto Watch runs Motorola’s own platform rather than Wear OS and requires a phone with Android 12 or newer. The proprietary approach hints at tighter integration, even if it narrows software expectations.

Battery life is rated at up to 13 days, or around 7 days with the always-on display enabled. Fast charging promises about a full day of use after just five minutes on the charger—useful for those who forget to top up overnight.

Pricing starts at €99.99 for the silicone-strap version and goes up to €149.99 for the stainless-steel model. Sales begin in the United States on January 22, 2026, with international availability following in February. It’s also the first Motorola device to carry the Powered by Polar label, a clear signal of its fitness and wellness focus—and a positioning that should resonate with those who value guidance as much as raw data.
