Lenovo has confirmed a portable gaming console, the Legion Go 2, in a configuration preloaded with SteamOS. The newcomer, called Legion Go 2 Powered by SteamOS, was unveiled at CES 2026, with sales slated for June.
The handheld adds a dedicated Steam button for instant access to the platform’s interface, game library, and system menus. It becomes Lenovo’s second SteamOS device after the Legion Go S, but this version targets a higher-end tier and is built on the flagship Legion Go 2. The move suggests Lenovo is leaning further into Valve’s ecosystem while nudging its premium lineup forward.
The SteamOS edition keeps the series’ signature ideas: detachable controllers, an integrated kickstand, and a shooter‑friendly mouse‑control mode where the right controller can be used separately with a removable joystick. The hardware mirrors the Windows version of the Legion Go 2, pairing an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a PCIe Gen4 M.2 2242 SSD up to 2 TB, plus a microSD slot. That parity makes the operating system choice more a matter of preference than raw specs.
Visuals are handled by an 8.8‑inch OLED display at 1920 × 1200 with a 144 Hz refresh rate and VRR support. Power comes from a 74 Wh battery, and there are two USB4 Type‑C ports for accessories. On paper, the blend of screen tech and connectivity points to a capable travel companion for portable play.
