OnePlus Turbo 6 and 6V unveiled with 9,000 mAh battery, 165Hz AMOLED and IP69K

OnePlus has officially unveiled the Turbo 6 in China, and the headline act is a 9,000 mAh battery — a capacity that not long ago seemed out of reach for a phone with standard dimensions. At just 8.5 mm thick, the company is essentially throwing down a challenge to the industry, showing that long battery life doesn’t have to turn a smartphone into a brick.

The Turbo 6 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an adaptive refresh rate up to 165 Hz, which makes scrolling and gaming feel noticeably smoother than on many 120 Hz flagships. The more affordable Turbo 6V tops out at 144 Hz, and in practice few people are likely to see a stark difference. The screen includes eye protection features and is covered by OPPO Crystal Shield glass.

Under the hood, the Turbo 6 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the Turbo 6V is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Both devices ship with Android 16 and ColorOS 16, and can be configured with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The Glacier Cooling system keeps performance steady under load, and the Windspeed Gaming Kernel prioritizes game performance while trimming power consumption — a practical touch that hints at who these phones are built for.

The main camera pairs a 50 MP sensor with optical image stabilization and a 2 MP monochrome module, while the front camera offers 16 MP. Video recording goes up to 4K at 60 fps. Rounding out the hardware are stereo speakers, an infrared port, and an in-display fingerprint reader.

The showpiece, though, is the 9,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80 W SuperVOOC fast charging, which takes the phone to a full charge in roughly 75 minutes. Protection ratings include IP66, IP68, and IP69K, making the device resistant not only to water and dust but also to high-pressure jets. The message is clear: endurance is the priority — in battery life and in day-to-day durability.
