OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra tipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9500, 165Hz 1.5K display and massive battery

OnePlus is gearing up another performance-focused smartphone for the Chinese market, and this time the company is betting not on Snapdragon but on a flagship MediaTek chip. According to insider Digital Chat Station, a new device based on the Dimensity 9500 is in development, already undergoing engineering tests and aimed squarely at maximum performance.

The prototype carries a flat 6.78-inch LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate. The panel has rounded corners and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. Taken together, the hardware points to a gaming or near-gaming focus, especially with the stated options for customized performance tuning.

Battery life is a separate intrigue. The source indicates the test pack starts with an “8,” and inside the company they are weighing the option of pushing capacity to 9,000 mAh. If that holds, the phone could be among the most enduring in its class, especially in tandem with the energy-efficient process of MediaTek’s new chip.

It is also reported that MediaTek does not plan to release a Dimensity 9500 Plus this year, meaning there will be no overclocked variant of the flagship processor. That indirectly suggests OnePlus will use the standard Dimensity 9500, unlike last year’s Ace 5 Ultra, which shipped with the Dimensity 9400 Plus.

Given the Ace line’s history and usual launch windows, the newcomer may arrive as the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra and debut closer to May. If the leaks prove accurate, OnePlus is lining up a credible rival to gaming flagships with an emphasis on screen quality, battery stamina, and uncomplicated, raw performance.
