HONOR has officially confirmed the launch of the Magic8 Pro Air, an ultra-thin flagship set to debut on January 19, 2026. The company is clearly reigniting the race for record-slim phones, but this time pairs the look with fully fledged high-end hardware. The device positions itself against the future iPhone Air and Samsung’s sleekest models.
Confirmed figures put the Magic8 Pro Air at 6.1 to 6.3 mm thick and about 155 grams in weight. That’s notably slimmer and lighter than most current flagships, yet the chassis doesn’t come off as flimsy or simplified. The redesign brings a horizontal main camera module in a Pixel-like layout, inside which sits a triple camera system.
The battery is the unexpected star. Despite the razor-thin body, capacity is around 5,500 mAh, made possible by silicon-carbon technology. Wireless charging apparently won’t make the cut, but a 90 W wired fast charge is promised to refill the phone in short order.
Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 built on a 3 nm process handles performance. It’s chosen for lower heat output—critical for such a slender frame. Up front is a flat 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and integrated tech aimed at reducing eye strain during long use.
The Magic8 Pro Air looks like one of HONOR’s bolder moves in recent years, hinting that an ultra-thin form no longer has to trade away battery life or muscle. If these claims hold up in real-world testing, the 2026 flagship scene may find a new trendsetter.
