Fender Play comes to Samsung smart TVs for at-home guitar lessons

Samsung is pushing its TVs beyond entertainment, turning them into a tool for learning music. The company has announced a partnership with the iconic Fender brand that will bring the Fender Play app to Samsung smart TVs. With it, users can learn acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and even ukulele without leaving home.

The app offers interactive, step-by-step video lessons built around well-known songs, making practice clearer and more engaging even for beginners. There’s also a Jam Mode that lets learners choose a visual backdrop and play along with curated tracks to recreate the feel of a group session. Some lessons are expected to be free, while expanded content may require a subscription; specific terms have not yet been disclosed.

Samsung showed a live demo of Fender Play at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The app will first roll out on 2026 Samsung TV models and later reach select older sets via a software update. According to the company, learning on a big screen fits naturally into daily routines and helps users progress faster, turning the living room into a full-fledged space for creativity and study. The idea seems tailor-made for the couch: convert screen time into practice time and keep the instrument within arm’s reach.
