Honor Magic 8 Pro Air: 6.1 mm thin, 155 g, 64 MP periscope camera

Honor is preparing to launch an ultra-thin smartphone, the Magic 8 Pro Air, which has already appeared in a new teaser and quickly drew attention with its blend of minimal thickness, low weight, and an advanced camera system. The device is framed as a lighter take on the flagship and was mentioned alongside the premium Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, underscoring its place in the lineup.

According to the published materials, the Magic 8 Pro Air features a 6.1 mm body and a triple rear camera. A key element is a 64 MP periscope telephoto module, something earlier leaks had already indicated. The main camera uses a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, while the telephoto is expected to deliver 3.2x optical zoom—an appealing proposition for mobile photography.

Honor also puts clear emphasis on weight. At 155 grams, the Magic 8 Pro Air comes in noticeably lighter than many rivals in the ultra-thin category. For context, the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge weigh 165 and 163 grams respectively. The phone will arrive in four colors—Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White, and Shadow Black—signaling a focus not just on technology but also on design.

Preliminary information points to a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and a 5,500 mAh battery—especially striking given the slender build. There’s support for 80 W wired charging, with configurations offering up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. Taken together, these details suggest the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air is shaping up to be one of the more distinctive yet well-balanced ultra-thin flagships on the horizon.
