Naya Connect modular low-profile mechanical keyboard launches on Kickstarter

The Naya Connect modular low-profile mechanical keyboard launched on Kickstarter with a resounding success, reaching its funding goal in just six minutes. This immediate attention stems from its ambitious vision to build an entire ecosystem around a single keyboard. With a target of $11,665, the campaign surpassed this threshold within the first hour and, at the time of publication, had raised nearly $190,000 from over five hundred backers, with almost a month of fundraising still remaining.

Naya Connect is a wireless low-profile mechanical keyboard in a 75% form factor that can be scaled up to 96%. Users can expand it with a numpad and navigation cluster, and connect additional input modules like a trackball, touchpad, 6DoF controller, and customizable encoder. All components link via a proprietary pogo pin interface, allowing free rearrangement to assemble configurations tailored for specific tasks, whether for work, editing, or 3D navigation.

In its base Naya Type version, the keyboard operates wired, while wireless mode requires a dock and at least one module, which house the antennas and batteries. It features Kailh hot-swap sockets and low-profile Choc V2 switches, available in linear, tactile, quiet, and clicky variants. The keyboard comes with double-shot keycaps with backlighting, and proprietary software offers extensive customization.

On Kickstarter, Naya is offering the system at significantly reduced prices. Under the Super Early Bird tier, a kit with a touch module and dock is available for $219, while a version adding a numpad costs $269. In retail, such a setup could exceed $400. This rapid campaign success highlights the growing interest in modular and customizable input devices.
