An anonymous hacker who previously claimed to have fully breached the national messenger МАХ and leaked data from over 15 million users has retracted those statements. He posted a clarification on a darknet forum, stating that his earlier announcement was incorrect and that the database in question does not exist.
The hacker said that searching for potential critical vulnerabilities in the messenger yielded no results. He also noted being surprised by the widespread dissemination of his previous post in Telegram channels. The hacking mechanism he described earlier was intended to show that the message was a fake.
Information about the alleged data leak of more than 15 million people began spreading on Telegram. The МАХ press service immediately labeled it as fake and explained how user data is stored and how password protection is implemented. This situation highlights the importance of verifying sources and cautiously spreading unverified rumors about the security of digital services.
