Volvo EX60 electric SUV with 810km range and AI technology

Volvo has revealed key details about its new electric crossover, the EX60, which will make its global debut on January 21, 2026. Positioned as the brand's new premium SUV, the model immediately stands out with impressive specifications. The focus is squarely on range, which reaches 810 kilometers even for the all-wheel-drive version, placing the EX60 among the longest-range electric vehicles in its class.

The charging system is equally impressive. The Volvo EX60 supports ultra-fast charging at up to 400 kW, allowing for a range boost of approximately 340 kilometers in just ten minutes when using a compatible station. Such figures were previously associated mainly with expensive sports electric cars but are now arriving in the family SUV segment.

At the car's core lies a new computing architecture called HuginCore, named after the raven from Norse mythology. It combines Nvidia and Qualcomm solutions, delivering computational power exceeding 250 trillion operations per second. The system handles both multimedia based on Snapdragon Cockpit and sensor data processing for driver assistance and autonomous driving systems using the Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chip.

The integration of artificial intelligence deserves special attention. Volvo will be the first automaker to embed Google Gemini directly into the vehicle. Voice control reaches a new level: the driver will be able to interact with the car using natural language, plan trips, search for information in emails, and receive contextual prompts. In the future, Gemini will learn to analyze images from the car's cameras and answer questions about the surrounding environment.

The EX60 is being developed from the ground up as a software-oriented car. All key functions will be regularly updated over-the-air via the Superset Tech Stack platform, enabling the expansion of the vehicle's capabilities after purchase.
