ASUS has officially announced it will discontinue production of the RTX 5070 Ti and 5060 Ti 16GB graphics cards, citing the models' "end of life" and manufacturing challenges. According to Hardware Unboxed, memory shortages are a key factor: the 16GB versions have become too expensive for mass production, especially given rising demand from data centers and the AI industry.
Retailers report both models have already vanished from shelves, with no further purchases possible from official distributors. ASUS stated the cards have reached end-of-life status, and no new shipments are expected. NVIDIA continues producing other GeForce models, but for ASUS, this move effectively marks the end for these GPUs.
Experts point out that memory shortages and production priorities for server and AI segments severely limit availability of consumer components. This drives up prices for graphics cards, RAM, and SSDs, leaving many users struggling to find affordable cards with ample memory.
For gamers and enthusiasts, this is disappointing news. The RTX 5070 Ti and 5060 Ti 16GB were seen as offering the best performance-to-cost balance for high-resolution gaming. Now, replacements must be found among other models, likely requiring additional spending.
