Developers continue to expand WhatsApp’s feature set, and the latest beta for Android (version 2.25.23.21) introduces something that closely resembles a voicemail function. If a call goes unanswered, the app now presents three clear options: call back, cancel, or leave a voice message.
The new «Record Voice Message» button is available not only on the call screen but also directly within the chat with the recipient. This small change streamlines the process of sending voice notes, making it feel more like a traditional voicemail system while staying true to WhatsApp’s messaging style.
At this stage, the feature is being rolled out to a limited group of Android beta testers. The company has not yet specified when it will be available to all users.
