Xiaomi has introduced its new Mijia Smart Audio Glasses in Europe, a device designed to replace traditional headphones without needing anything inserted into the ears. The frames feature built-in SLS0820 ultrasonic speakers that deliver open audio, allowing you to listen to music while staying aware of your surroundings.
Available in several frame styles—Titanium, Browline, and Pilot—the glasses are built to IP54 standards for dust and water resistance. The titanium version is the lightest, weighing just 27.6 grams, comparable to regular fashion eyewear. They come with blue-light filtering lenses, and thanks to a quick-release frame design, these can be swapped for prescription lenses at an optician.
Battery life stands out as a key feature, offering up to 13 hours of playback. For a quick boost, just 10 minutes on the charger provides up to 4 hours of listening. Touch-sensitive panels on the arms handle controls, while Bluetooth connectivity supports two devices simultaneously.
Xiaomi also highlights a sound-leakage protection technology: in privacy mode, the system generates reverse sound waves to reduce audio spillage to those nearby. In practice, this works more effectively in noisy environments; in complete silence at high volumes, others might still detect a faint background sound.
