iQOO 15 Ultra: super-sensitive touch bumpers for mobile gaming

iQOO is preparing to launch its flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15 Ultra, which is set to debut in early February. A key feature of this new device will be so-called "super-sensitive touch bumpers," primarily aimed at mobile gamers and FPS enthusiasts.

According to an iQOO product manager, these new controls have no mechanical components and operate entirely on a touch-sensitive basis. They offer a touch polling rate of up to 600 Hz and use two independent control chips to transmit commands separately. This reduces latency and improves response accuracy, while a special sweat-proof algorithm ensures stable performance even during long gaming sessions. Instead of physical clicks, they simulate tactile feedback using a linear vibration motor, which maintains consistent feel over time with virtually no wear.

iQOO emphasizes that these bumpers avoid the issues of classic mechanical solutions: they don't require a return to their original position, don't collect dirt, are better protected against moisture, and are designed for an almost unlimited lifespan. When holding the phone horizontally, fingers naturally rest on the control zones at the edges of the body. For popular shooters, ready-made adaptive profiles are already available, eliminating the need for manual setup.

The company has also previously revealed the design of the iQOO 15 Ultra. The smartphone will launch in "2077 Glowing Orange" and "2049 Cold Blue" colors, continuing the brand's futuristic styling. According to leaks, the device will feature a massive cooling system with a fan and a separate air channel, a 2K Samsung display with reduced power consumption, a battery capacity of around 7,400 mAh, an advanced vibration motor, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom.
