Xiaomi HyperOS 3 update heavily inspired by iOS 26 interface

In its latest HyperOS 3 update, Xiaomi has made the interface so similar to iOS 26 that it's become difficult to tell them apart. Against the backdrop of iOS leaks, it's clear that Xiaomi drew such heavy inspiration from Apple that many elements look like direct clones.

Users are noting that HyperOS 3 now features semi-transparent backgrounds with blur effects, reminiscent of iOS's "liquid glass." It seems Xiaomi aimed for a more premium feel, but ended up simply replicating Apple's visual techniques. One of the most noticeable changes is the introduction of a notification "bubble" that resembles the Dynamic Island. It displays calls and music in an expanding window—functionally convenient, but clearly not original.

System app icons have also been updated: Weather, Calendar, Calls, and others now have rounded shapes and a soft color palette that closely mimics the iOS style. Even network indicators have shifted toward Apple's minimalist aesthetic. The borrowing extends to biometrics as well: the face unlock animation is now almost identical to Face ID. This looks more like direct copying than inspiration.

The rationale behind these changes is clear: Xiaomi is trying to give its smartphones a premium feel by adopting Apple's recognizable style. For users who want Android but with an "Apple-like" aesthetic, HyperOS 3 becomes an attractive option. However, originality in design has clearly taken a hit.
