Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor

Redmi has officially unveiled the Turbo 5, the base model in its new series, launching in China alongside the Turbo 5 Max. The smartphone's standout feature is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor, marking it as the world's first device to use this chipset. It comes equipped with modern LPDDR5 Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage, plus the same vapor chamber cooling system found in the larger Max variant.

The device features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Supporting HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, along with 12-bit color reproduction, this panel ranks among the highest quality in its class. The body maintains a premium look with a metal frame and glass back panel.

One of the Redmi Turbo 5's key advantages is its substantial 7,560 mAh battery, which is notably larger than average for mid-range smartphones. It supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging, allowing the phone to double as a power bank.

For photography, it offers a 50-megapixel main Sony IMX882 sensor paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module, while the front camera has a 20-megapixel resolution. Running on Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3, the Turbo 5 includes an under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, NFC, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is now available for pre-order in China in white, green, and black color options. Pricing starts at 1,999 yuan for the 12/256 GB version and goes up to 2,599 yuan for the 16/512 GB configuration, positioning it as one of the most powerful offerings in its price segment.
