Xiaomi 17T details revealed with big battery and new camera sensors

New details have emerged about the Xiaomi 17T, which could become one of the most notable models in Xiaomi's upcoming global 17 series. The smartphone already appeared in the IMEI database back in October alongside the Xiaomi 17T Pro, and now a leak from HyperOS code has revealed key camera and battery specifications. The device is listed under the internal codename P12A, confirming active preparations for its release.

The main upgrade will be a battery with a 6,500 mAh capacity—a significant step forward compared to the Xiaomi 15T, which offered 5,500 mAh. Meanwhile, charging speed will remain unchanged at 67W, still providing fast energy replenishment for a mid-to-high-tier smartphone.

The Xiaomi 17T will also feature a triple main camera, with the primary sensor being the OmniVision OV50E. This system will be complemented by the OmniVision OV13B and Samsung ISOCELL JN5, handling ultra-wide-angle and telephoto photography respectively. For the front camera, the Samsung ISOCELL S5KKDS sensor is mentioned. This represents a notable change from the Xiaomi 15T, which used the Light Fusion 800, a 50-megapixel telephoto module, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

In terms of performance, the new model could make a serious leap thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, which recently debuted and is focused on generative and agent AI functions through its built-in NPU. Interestingly, this same chip is already used in the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, giving a rough idea of the power level expected for the future Xiaomi 17T.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to be announced as early as February 2026, which would be an unusual move for the T series, typically launched in autumn. If the rumors hold true, Xiaomi is preparing an early release with an emphasis on battery life, new cameras, and AI capabilities.
