AOC has launched sales of its new gaming monitor, the Agon AG275UXM2, featuring advanced Mini LED backlighting and an unusual dual-mode operation. The model is already available in China and is positioned as a higher-tier offering compared to the recently introduced Q27G4SMN, delivering flagship specifications at a relatively accessible price point.
The monitor sports a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with 4K resolution (3840×2160) and a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz. Its standout feature is the QD Mini LED backlight, which uses 9,216 LEDs and 2,304 local dimming zones to achieve a peak HDR brightness of up to 1,600 nits. The device is VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certified, and its typical SDR brightness of 600 nits makes it one of the brightest displays in its class.
For esports players, a special dual-mode is included: the monitor can switch to Full HD (1920×1080) and boost the refresh rate to 320 Hz. Response time is rated at 0.5 ms MPRT and 1 ms GtG, with MPRT potentially dropping to 0.3 ms at lower resolutions. Adaptive-Sync and FreeSync support help prevent screen tearing and stuttering in fast-paced games.
AOC also emphasizes color performance: the monitor covers 100% of the sRGB and 98% of the DCI-P3 color spaces, with factory calibration promising an average Delta E below 1. The use of quantum dots enhances color saturation and stability, making the AG275UXM2 appealing not just for gaming but also for graphics and video work.
In terms of connectivity, the model includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 65 W charging. It also features a USB hub, a built-in KVM switch, PiP/PbP modes, and AGON Gaming Light FX backlighting. The stand offers height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot to portrait orientation, along with VESA 100×100 mounting compatibility.
In China, the AOC Agon AG275UXM2 is priced at 3,999 yuan (approximately $475). While there is no information yet on its release in other markets, its specifications position it as potentially one of the most attractive Mini LED monitors in its price segment.
