Minix Neo Z95 mini-PC: compact solution for everyday tasks

Minix has unveiled its new Neo Z95 mini-PC, a compact solution designed for everyday tasks like office work, multimedia, and basic multitasking. The device features a small form factor, with dimensions no larger than a typical smartphone.

At the heart of the Minix Neo Z95 is the Intel N95 processor from the Alder Lake-N series. This chip debuted in early 2023 and has since been succeeded by newer models like the N150 and N200. Despite its age, the Intel N95 remains suitable for web browsing, document work, video content, and simple work scenarios. The mini-PC comes in a single configuration with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe 3.0 solid-state drive. The RAM is soldered onto the board, but the storage drive can likely be replaced or expanded, though the company hasn't provided exact details.

With dimensions of just 88×88×43 mm, the Minix Neo Z95 boasts a surprisingly rich set of ports. The chassis includes three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, two gigabit LAN ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. This configuration allows for simultaneous connection of up to three displays.

Cooling is handled by an active system that ensures stable performance under load, while the external design is understated and neat. The exact price and launch date haven't been announced yet, but similar mini-PCs based on the Intel N95 typically cost around $230, suggesting a comparable price point. The Neo Z95 is expected to hit the market soon.
