Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Watch 9 certified for 2026 release

Samsung is gearing up for a busy 2026, gradually revealing details about its upcoming flagship devices. While the company prepares for its first Galaxy Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S26 smartphones are expected to debut, signs of the next product wave are already emerging online.

According to Smartprix, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ tablets have received global certification and appeared in the GSMA IMEI database well ahead of their official launch. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is listed with model number SM-X946B, while the Plus version carries the designation SM-X846B. Interestingly, the standard Galaxy Tab S12 has not yet been recorded in the database.

This detail matters because Samsung skipped the Plus version in the previous Galaxy Tab S11 generation, releasing only the standard model and Ultra. Now the situation might shift again, with Samsung possibly focusing exclusively on Plus and Ultra variants. Still, a later appearance of the standard Tab S12 shouldn't be ruled out.

Beyond tablets, the brand's new smartwatches have also been certified. The GSMA database shows the Galaxy Watch 9 with model number SM-L345U, along with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, designated as SM-L716U. Technical specifications remain undisclosed, as usual, but the registration itself confirms these products are in early-stage preparation for release.

In practice, there's typically a six- to seven-month gap between a device appearing in the IMEI database and its official announcement. If Samsung sticks to its usual schedule, the Galaxy Tab S12 series, plus the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2, could be unveiled at the second Galaxy Unpacked event, which generally takes place in August or September.
