Take-Two has once again confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is sticking strictly to its schedule, with the game still set for release on November 19, 2026. The company hasn't changed its plans despite numerous rumors and fan expectations, emphasizing that the date remains unchanged and the launch will be one of the key events of the financial year.
Interestingly, the latest quarterly report and management comments included an important clarification: GTA 6 will definitely be released not only in digital format but also on physical discs. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick directly dismissed speculation that the company might abandon discs to combat leaks, stating that this is not the plan. Thus, the idea of an exclusively digital launch has effectively been taken off the table.
It has also become known that the full marketing campaign for GTA 6 will kick off this summer. Zelnick noted that confidence in the schedule is now at its highest, but fans expecting a new trailer in the coming weeks should temper their expectations—active promotion of the game will begin closer to the season.
So far, the release has been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with these versions launching on day one. However, Take-Two's statements still make no mention of a PC version, which continues to spark discussions in the community. Indirect leaks have previously hinted at PC port development, as test systems allegedly featured RTX-level graphics cards.
Take-Two is confident that the release of GTA 6 will be the biggest commercial event and will help the company set record sales figures in the 2027 fiscal year. For players, the main takeaway is already clear: the wait continues, but the date of November 19, 2026 remains firm, and the launch will be comprehensive—with boxed editions and a major marketing start this summer.
