Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max with Leica camera: specs and price

On September 25, at its annual showcase, Xiaomi unveiled the flagship Xiaomi 17 Pro series, which includes the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The senior model is pitched as a versatile, high-tech cameraphone and will be available starting at 5,999 yuan.

The smartphone carries a 6.9-inch flat display built on superpixel technology. It targets clarity on par with classic 2K panels while using less power—even compared with 1.5K screens. Third-generation Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass protects the front and notably improves resistance to drops and impacts, a pragmatic nod to everyday durability.

The headline feature is the new Leica Light Master camera system. The main module based on the Light Hunter 950L sensor employs the proprietary LOFIC technology to deliver an expanded dynamic range of 16.5 EV, positioning the camera as one of the strongest options for shooting against the light. A periscope telephoto adds 5x zoom and a 30% increase in light transmittance, rounding out a setup clearly aimed at tough lighting.

Power comes from a 7,500 mAh battery built on a new L-shaped design with silicon anodes (16% silicon content). It supports 100 W wired and 50 W wireless Xiaomi Surge charging, allowing rapid top-ups despite the high capacity—exactly the kind of convenience expected at this level.

The base 12/256 GB version is priced at 5,999 yuan, while the top 16 GB/1 TB configuration costs 6,999 yuan—a straightforward spread that underscores the series’ flagship ambitions.
