Apple is gearing up for a packed launch of several devices, with key details already revealed by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman. The spotlight is on the iPhone 17e, which will evolve the affordable lineup and, according to leaks, receive notable improvements without a price hike. Gurman reports that the smartphone will maintain its starting price of $599, despite rising component costs.
The main upgrades for the iPhone 17e include the new Apple A19 processor and the long-awaited addition of MagSafe support, which was missing from the previous model. The device will also be equipped with the Apple C1X modem and a separate Apple N1 chip handling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread. This combination should enhance connectivity, energy efficiency, and integration with the smart home ecosystem.
In parallel, Apple is preparing updates to its tablets. The base iPad 12 will get the A18 chip, while the iPad Air 8 will transition to the more powerful M4. Gurman notes that both devices will see only "cosmetic" spec updates without design changes. Later this year, the iPad mini 8 is also expected, potentially finally receiving an OLED display.
New computers are on the horizon too. Apple plans to introduce MacBook Pro models with 14-inch and 16-inch diagonals, along with a MacBook Air based on the M5 chip. In development are a new Mac Studio and an updated Studio Display, while a Mac mini and a compact MacBook with an iPhone-level processor are anticipated closer to year-end. Exact presentation dates haven't been disclosed, but the launch is clearly imminent.
