Cybersecurity alert: trojan spreads through unlicensed software

Cybersecurity experts from Howler Cell have reported the widespread distribution of new malicious software. According to their data, the trojan has already infected over 400,000 computers worldwide. The report indicates that unlicensed software has been the primary source of infection. Most commonly, the virus has reached computers through free versions of video games that users have been downloading since April 2025.

The danger of this malware lies in its covert operation. The trojan does not slow down the system and has minimal impact on a computer's daily performance, allowing it to remain undetected for long periods. At the same time, it can access a user's personal files as well as the device's webcam, creating significant opportunities for malicious actors.

Experts note that the virus is difficult to detect even with modern antivirus software. Its main purpose is to collect confidential information and provide remote access to fraudsters, who can then use it for further attacks.

Specialists recommend avoiding the installation of pirated software and games, and regularly updating security measures to reduce the risk of infection.
