iOS 26.4 update: Siri enhancements and visual changes

Apple has set tentative dates for the release of iOS 26.4, an update expected to significantly revamp Siri and introduce new visual elements to the system. According to the latest Power On newsletter from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the first developer beta could arrive around February 23. A public beta is anticipated slightly later, near the end of February or early March, with the final public release slated for late March.

The main focus of iOS 26.4 is enhancing Siri. The voice assistant will become much smarter, learning to account for a user's personal context, quickly find information in notes, emails, and messages, and understand what's currently displayed on the screen. Additionally, Siri will handle more complex commands, controlling specific features within apps and even coordinating actions across different programs.

Beyond these under-the-hood improvements, iOS 26.4 will bring cosmetic updates. The system will gain new emoji, including a treasure chest, a bitten apple symbol, and a dramatic dust cloud associated with fights. Gurman notes that the current release schedule remains in place, but Apple typically reserves the right to adjust dates if testing uncovers issues.
