The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to launch towards the end of the year and will likely include a standard model and a Pro version. While detailed information about the new devices remains scarce, a recent leak suggests significant upgrades to the camera system.
According to insider Digital Chat Station, the upcoming compact flagship with a 6.3-inch display could feature not one but two rear cameras with 200-megapixel resolution. The leak doesn't specify the exact model, but context hints it's likely the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
In the previous generation, the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro shared the same display size, but the Pro model offered a more advanced camera. By analogy, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is anticipated to receive key photography enhancements. A similar setup might also appear in the Pro Max variant.
The leak indicates Xiaomi could pair a 200-megapixel main camera with a periscope telephoto lens of the same resolution. This approach has previously been rumored for upcoming models like the vivo X300 Ultra and OPPO Find X9s.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to retain a design and rear panel layout similar to the previous generation. Meanwhile, rumors suggest the base Xiaomi 18 might get a periscope telephoto lens for the first time.
