Redmi K100 series could feature 200-megapixel camera

Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly adopting 200-megapixel cameras in 2026, and Xiaomi appears poised to join this trend. Following recent rumors about the Xiaomi 18 series, a new leak suggests the Redmi K100 lineup might receive a significant camera upgrade.

According to insider Smart Pikachu, the Redmi K100 series could feature a 200-megapixel sensor paired with a periscope telephoto lens. Hashtags accompanying the leak indicate this refers specifically to the flagship Redmi K series. The Redmi K100 lineup is expected to include two models—the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max—as successors to the Redmi K90 Pro and K90 Pro Max. Last year's models used triple 50-megapixel cameras, but the new generation could mark a substantial leap forward.

If a 200-megapixel camera does appear in the Redmi K100 series, the Pro Max version is the most likely candidate. It remains unclear whether this would be the primary sensor or the periscope telephoto lens, as the leak does not specify this detail.

A global rebranding of the device is also under discussion. Similar to the Redmi K90 Pro Max, which launched internationally as the POCO F8 Ultra, the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro Max might be marketed outside China as the POCO F9 Ultra. In that case, the F9 Ultra would become the first POCO smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. Preliminary information suggests the POCO F9 series could debut in the first quarter of 2027.
