Redmi is preparing to launch a new flagship smartphone for the Chinese market called the K90 Ultra. According to Chinese insiders, this model could arrive significantly earlier than its predecessor, the K80 Ultra, potentially debuting as soon as April.
A device with the model number 2604FRK1EC previously appeared in the GSMA IMEI database. Sources now confirm it will be a high-performance smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. While a version with a Dimensity 9500+ was initially speculated, the latest information suggests the standard variant will be used.
One of the K90 Ultra's standout features could be a built-in active cooling fan—a rare solution for Xiaomi smartphones. This points to a clear focus on mobile gaming and sustained performance under heavy load. The device is also expected to feature a 6.8-inch display with 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, an 8,500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging support, a metal frame, an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and water resistance.
Rumors suggest a global variant, possibly called the Xiaomi 17T Pro, is in the works as a revised version of the K90 Ultra. However, the international model might omit the active cooling fan. While official specifications remain unconfirmed, the pattern of leaks indicates an announcement could be imminent.
