The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets, which were previously launched in China, are set to arrive on the global market soon. This move is indicated by the devices receiving European energy efficiency certification, a step that typically precedes an international release.
The standard Pad 8 is expected to come in blue, gray, and green colors, with 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB. The Pad 8 Pro will be available in the same colors but with more advanced configurations—8/256 GB and 12/512 GB.
Rumors suggest the global launch could coincide with the international unveiling of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones, likely just before the MWC trade show in Barcelona in early March.
Both models feature an 11.2-inch IPS LCD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits. They are equipped with four speakers for immersive audio and a 9200 mAh battery that supports reverse wired charging at 22.5 W.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and includes a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It supports wired charging at 45 W. The Pad 8 Pro steps up with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 50 MP main camera and a 32 MP front camera, along with 67 W charging. Additionally, the Pro model comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
By expanding globally, Xiaomi aims to boost competition in the high-performance Android tablet segment, focusing on a high refresh rate display, robust hardware, and long battery life.
