Xiaomi 18 render leak: design, specs, and launch details

A purported render of the Xiaomi 18 has surfaced online, potentially revealing the final design of the upcoming flagship. The official launch of the series is expected in September in China, where the company will reportedly introduce three models simultaneously—the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max—mirroring its strategy from the previous year. However, the leak's authenticity remains unconfirmed, so the published images should be viewed with caution.

According to the render, the base model will feature a square camera module with rounded corners and a minimalist aesthetic. The triple-camera setup is arranged in a triangular layout, accompanied by a Leica logo and an LED flash. Visually, the smartphone bears a resemblance to recent Apple iPhone models, which could signal a new design direction for Xiaomi.

Insiders suggest the base model's display will grow from 6.3 to 6.4 inches, providing more internal space for components. The device is also rumored to pack an even larger battery than the 7,000 mAh unit in the Xiaomi 17, alongside the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. The entire Xiaomi 18 series is said to feature a 200-megapixel periscope camera while retaining the 50-megapixel main and 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensors. It is expected to launch with Android 17 and an updated version of HyperOS.
