Sony WF-1000XM6 wireless earbuds with enhanced features

Sony has introduced the new WF-1000XM6 fully wireless earbuds, highlighting a significantly improved active noise-cancelling system. According to the company, ANC effectiveness has increased by about 25% compared to the WF-1000XM5 model, particularly in the mid to high frequency ranges typical of urban noise. This system is based on the HD Noise Canceling QN3e processor and an integrated V2 chip, with each earbud now featuring four microphones. The Adaptive Noise Canceling Optimizer technology analyzes ambient sounds and ear fit, compensating for potential leakage due to loose ear tips.

The casing is 11% more compact and better adapted to ear anatomy, while a new ventilation design reduces internal noise during movement or conversation. For a tighter seal, four sizes of ear tips are offered. Inside, an updated audio system includes dual signal processing, improved amplification, and support for 32-bit sound. The driver combines a soft edge for rich bass and a hard dome for clear highs. Features include Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme, 360 Reality Audio, a 10-band equalizer in the Sound Connect app, head tracking, and an ambient sound mode. Sony involved renowned mastering engineers in tuning the sound.

For calls, bone conduction sensors, two microphones with AI beamforming, and a per-ear intelligent noise-cancelling system are used. Wireless capabilities have also been enhanced, with antennas 1.5 times larger and support for LE Audio added. Battery life reaches up to eight hours on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the case, which supports Qi wireless charging. The WF-1000XM6 are available for $329.99 in black and platinum silver colors.
