Škoda has introduced an innovative solution to combat boredom during electric vehicle charging. The Enyaq models with software version 4.0 and the new Elroq now feature AirConsole platform support, allowing games to be played directly on the infotainment screen. Players use their smartphones as controllers, connecting via a QR code without needing additional hardware. This service targets short stops, waiting periods, and time spent at charging stations.
According to reports, the launch highlight is an exclusive Tetris game adapted for the automotive interface. Available in both single-player and multiplayer modes, it will be offered exclusively to Škoda owners for the first six months. The choice of this iconic puzzle game stems from its simplicity and ability to quickly engage players, even during brief sessions.
Beyond Tetris, users have access to 14 additional games, including UNO Car Party and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, supporting up to five participants simultaneously. The app comes pre-installed in the system and is part of the Media Streaming package. The company emphasizes that integrating AirConsole aligns with its strategy to transform the car into a digital space for shared leisure, particularly relevant for electric vehicle owners.
