Apple is preparing a new budget MacBook that will surprise users with vibrant and unconventional colors for the company. This model will be more affordable, targeting students and users who want to combine style and practicality.
According to insider Mark Gurman, Apple tested several color options for the new laptop, including dark gray, silver, light green, blue, pink, and yellow. The final lineup will likely include only some of these options, but even the chosen colors will significantly differ from Apple's usual restrained designs, making the new product stand out.
The new MacBook will cost approximately $500–600, which is considerably lower than the prices of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. To reduce costs, Apple plans to use an A-series chip, familiar from iPhone models, instead of the more expensive M-series processors. The display will be slightly smaller than on higher-end models, but the body will remain aluminum rather than plastic, emphasizing the laptop's premium appearance.
Apple is targeting students and users who are just starting with macOS. The more accessible price, combined with bright and bold colors, should attract a new audience that might have previously chosen cheaper Windows laptops or Chromebooks. These vibrant colors will not only enhance the device's look but also help it stand out among other laptops on the market.
Preliminary reports indicate that Apple plans to release the new budget MacBook as early as March. This move represents an important step for the company as it aims to expand its audience and make macOS more accessible to younger users and students, all while maintaining the recognizable premium style characteristic of Apple products.
