OnePlus has begun rolling out its February update, OxygenOS B40P02, for smartphones and tablets. The update became available on February 5, 2026, and will reach users gradually, with distribution expected to complete by early March. This phased approach is standard for the company, so notifications may not appear immediately for all device owners.
The update carries version numbers B40P02 (BRB1EX01) for smartphones and B40P02 (BRB3EX01) for tablets. It focuses on enhancing the Photos app, expanding AI Writer capabilities, refining the Private Safe mode, and improving overall system stability.
The Photos app sees notable interface and functionality changes. Swipe gestures are now smoother, and the video editor supports trimming, splitting, merging clips, adding music and text, adjusting speed, cropping, and other tools. The AI Eraser works more precisely with fewer artifacts, while the glare removal function is more effective for documents and portraits of people wearing glasses.
In Collage mode, a new Out-of-Bounds option creates a depth effect. Additional filter categories are available for videos, screenshots, and screen recordings, and an auto-alignment tool helps correct photo tilt during cropping and rotation. Thumbnail analysis is faster, improving content preview on supported system versions.
AI Writer, available on devices with OxygenOS 16, now supports more scenarios. Users can generate letters, essays, job postings, proposals, and even video scripts through the universal Write Anything mode.
Private Safe has been optimized for devices running OxygenOS 14 and above. Adding files and images is quicker, and photos and videos can be edited directly within the secure storage without extraction. The update also includes optimizations to boost overall system stability and reliability.
OxygenOS B40P02 is rolling out to OnePlus smartphones and tablets, including flagship models like the OnePlus Open, series 15, 13, 12, 11, and 10, Nord line devices (Nord 5, Nord 4, Nord 3, Nord 2, and CE versions), and OnePlus Pad, Pad Go, Pad 2, and Pad 3 tablets.
