Headphone Zone and Chinese brand KZ have introduced the new Thunder in-ear headphones, a model developed from scratch without using existing platforms. This marks the first fully original product in the collaboration between the two companies, rather than a reworking of already known product lines.
The Headphone Zone x KZ Thunder is priced at $22 and comes in two versions: one with a classic 3.5mm connector and another with USB Type-C that includes a built-in DAC. This approach makes the model versatile for both audio players and modern smartphones without audio outputs, eliminating the need for adapters.
At the heart of the Thunder is a new acoustic architecture featuring a 10mm dynamic driver and a balanced armature driver. Both components are integrated with a specially designed crossover and printed circuit board. The sound signature follows a V-shaped profile, emphasizing deep bass and accentuated high frequencies, which makes these headphones particularly well-suited for energetic genres and rich arrangements.
The housing is made of transparent epoxy resin, allowing a view of the internal components with decorative gold accents. The faceplate features an exclusive geometric pattern created specifically for this model. The Thunder comes with a standard 2-pin cable, built-in microphone, and remote control. The ergonomic shape of the housing is designed for a snug fit to ensure comfort even during extended listening sessions.
