Telegram to limit message forwarding in personal conversations

Telegram may soon introduce a feature that prevents users from forwarding messages from personal conversations. According to the "Kod Durova" portal, these changes have been detected in the test version 12.5 of the iOS app.

The beta build reportedly includes tools to limit the spread of content from private chats. Users will be able to stop their contacts from copying text, saving files, and forwarding messages to third parties. This option can be activated through the contact's profile menu. Currently, the feature is unstable and undergoing internal testing.

In addition, developers are experimenting with "smart" reminders. The messenger now recognizes dates and time-related phrases like "tomorrow" or "on Friday" in text and suggests creating reminders instantly. In group chats, these reminders are automatically added to the "Favorites" section, ensuring users don't miss events even with notifications turned off.

Release dates for these new features in final versions of Telegram for iOS, Android, and other platforms have not yet been announced.
