AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7400 — Affordable, Efficient Gaming Card

AMD has quietly expanded its RDNA 3 lineup with the introduction of the Radeon RX 7400 — a budget-friendly gaming graphics card aimed at players seeking performance without breaking the bank. Alongside it, the company unveiled the Radeon Pro W7400, a professional-grade option designed for workstations. Both cards share the Navi 33 GPU, the same chip found in the Radeon RX 7600, RX 7600 XT, and RX 7650 GRE. As the smallest GPU in the RDNA 3 family, Navi 33 helps keep costs down while maintaining solid capabilities.

The Radeon RX 7400 comes equipped with 28 compute units, totaling 1,792 stream processors — roughly 12.5% fewer than its RX 7600 counterpart. It pairs this with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 10.8 Gbps, which is about 40% slower than the RX 7600’s memory speed, resulting in a total bandwidth of 173 GB/s. Connectivity is up to date with support for DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1. The card’s compact, single-slot design measures 167 mm in length, requires no external power connector, and sips just 55 watts, making it suitable for systems with power supplies starting at 450 watts.

Pricing details remain under wraps, but with the RX 7600 launching at $269, the RX 7400 is expected to land in a more affordable segment. AMD appears to be betting on energy efficiency, small form factors, and broad compatibility to appeal to budget-conscious gamers and professionals seeking a compact, efficient solution.
