Less than a day after officially unveiling the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung has begun the global rollout of an update for its Galaxy S25 lineup. This update delivers the February 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, and S25 Edge models. In practice, this means last year's current flagships are receiving another protection package almost immediately after their successors debuted.
The update first became available in South Korea at the start of the week and is now expanding to other regions, including countries in Asia and Europe. Depending on the specific model, the build number ends with either BZB5 or AZB6. Users can install the update via the Settings — Software Update menu, where it will gradually appear as the rollout wave expands.
For now, the update primarily includes security fixes. However, against the backdrop of the Galaxy S26 announcement, attention is increasingly shifting to the upcoming release of One UI 8.5. The official presentation of the new interface already took place alongside the new smartphone series, leaving the question of when it will become available to Galaxy S25 owners. The current security patch could potentially be the last one before the start of the larger interface update.
The distribution of the February update began closer to the end of the month and currently covers a limited number of devices. In the coming weeks, Samsung is likely to continue expanding the list of models receiving the latest patches while simultaneously preparing the transition to One UI 8.5 for the previous generation of flagships.
