Black Shark Gaming Tablet launches globally with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

The Black Shark brand, associated with Xiaomi, has officially returned to the global market with a new device: the Black Shark Gaming Tablet. Following preliminary announcements and the release of specifications without pricing, the tablet has quietly launched for international sale through official online channels.

The new device features a compact 8.8-inch form factor and is aimed at mobile gaming. Its chassis is made from aviation-grade aluminum, with a thickness of 7.7 mm and a weight of 332 grams. The tablet is available in black and silver, emphasizing a blend of portability and performance.

At its core is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, clocking up to 3.0 GHz with a neural processing unit capable of 40 TOPS. According to the manufacturer, the tablet scores over 1.9 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks, placing it firmly in the flagship gaming category. It comes with Android 16, 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage drive. In practice, this means it also supports memory expansion up to 2 TB via a TF card—a rare but useful feature for gamers and emulator enthusiasts.

The display offers a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 600 nits. It supports the DCI-P3 color space, with color accuracy claimed at a level of ΔE < 1. Cooling is handled by a vapor chamber, graphene layers, and a metal heat dissipation system with a total area exceeding 25,000 mm². For those seeking extra performance, an external magnetic cooler can be attached to ensure stable operation under heavy loads.

Powering the tablet is a 7,300 mAh battery, with support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and 4K output via DisplayPort. The audio system includes stereo speakers with a K9 amplifier. Overall, the picture is straightforward: the device is priced at around $670, €635, or £558, depending on the region. Currently, this is Black Shark's only product on the consumer market, which may indicate the brand is testing demand before making a full-scale return.
