Ahead of MWC 2026, images of an unusual Lenovo laptop have leaked online. The device is a conceptual modular ThinkBook with AI support that aims to rethink the conventional layout of portable PCs. Based on the materials, the company continues to experiment with form factors and user scenarios.
Well-known insider Evan Blass shared the renders. At first glance, the device looks like a classic clamshell laptop, but the lower part of the chassis is clearly designed for interchangeable modules. In one configuration, the user gets a standard keyboard with a touchpad; in another, a full additional display replaces the keyboard block.
Some images hint that the main screen could be mounted sideways or operate in a non-standard orientation, suggesting a flexible modular base construction. This approach allows quick switching between work modes: text typing, expanded workspace, stylus drawing, or an AI-powered control panel.
This isn't Lenovo's first bold experiment. The company regularly brings concepts with rollable displays, magnetic accessories, and unconventional screens to MWC. Not all ideas reach the mass market, but many later transform into real products, making such leaks particularly interesting.
Many questions remain: how modules attach, stylus support, how AI capabilities will be utilized, and whether the device will go on sale. Most likely, the modular ThinkBook is an exploration of future laptop use cases. Lenovo may reveal more details at the exhibition in Barcelona, starting March 2.
