Starfield PS5 release: launch date, pricing, and editions

Following the gradual shift of Xbox exclusives to PlayStation, it's now been revealed that Starfield is also preparing for a PS5 release. According to available information, the game will officially launch on Sony's console on April 7, 2026. This PS5 version will receive a physical edition, which is particularly important for collectors.

The game will be available in two variants—Standard and Premium—mirroring the Xbox version. Early access won't be included for Premium edition owners, and the details of additional content remain undisclosed. However, the biggest surprise comes from the pricing: in Europe, costs will be significantly lower than the Xbox version's launch prices.

The Standard edition of Starfield for PS5 will be priced at 49.99 euros, while the Premium edition will cost 69.99 euros. In the UK, prices will be 44.99 and 59.99 pounds respectively. This means the difference compared to the initial release could reach up to 40 euros, making the PS5 launch more appealing to new audiences.

Pre-orders are expected to open on March 18, 2026, possibly on the evening of March 17. Microsoft and Bethesda's official announcement is anticipated to coincide with this date. If confirmed, Starfield would become one of the most notable examples of Xbox expanding its ecosystem to a competing platform.
